Christopher Todd's Story
After high school, I went into the Army,seving at Ft. Drum NY. I deployed to Somalia with 10th Mountain Division in 1993. After coming back, I was selected to Special Forces Selection in 1995. After changing duty stations to Stuttgart Germany, I spent a year with 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group. An injury took me off of jump ststus, and I transfered to the 1st Infantry Division, the "Big Red One".I went to Bosnia in 1997, and left the military in 1998, staying in Germany. ng myself at Fort Stewart, Georgia, I went to Kosovo in 2001, and the invasion of Iraq in 2003, earning a Purple Heart, and an Army Commendation Medal with Valor. A second injury to my right knee forced me to medically retire at the end of 2003, but i stayed on as an advisor until 2007, after which, I worked as a bouncer at a local Hinesville, Georgia nightclub. I finally returned to Kansas City in March 2008, and have been living in Missouri ever since. I worked for BNSF for a few years, then worked as a roadside mechanic up until the pandemic. Now I'm retired, and finally enjoying life.
